Biography

Elizabeth Standifer is a paralegal at Hankey Law Firm, LLC. She is a native to Birmingham, Alabama but moved to Cullman in 2018. Her work focuses in on the practice areas of complex civil litigation, juvenile matters like adoptions or DHR dependency, and domestic family relations.

She is a 2023 graduate of Lipscomb University, in Nashville, Tennessee. While there, she earned her Baccalaureate and participated in the Honors College. She also received Academic Honors and a spot on the Provost’s List, during various semesters. In the future, she plans to attend law school and practice in family law.

Prior to joining the firm, Elizabeth acted as a Chair and Transcribing Board Member for the Davidson County Foster Care Review Board in Nashville, which ensures that dependent children are being advocated for and taken care of. Additionally, Elizabeth has served as a Public Speaker through the Alabama Department of Human Resources, where she traveled to yearly Alabama Judiciary Conferences and Alabama DHR Supervisor’s Conferences. There, she spoke on the importance of advocating for youth in foster care and the importance of supporting the struggling family unit.

Outside of the office, Elizabeth is involved in several Juvenile Peer Mentorship programs, where she serves as a positive resource and helping hand in guiding teenage Alabama foster youth from stigmas of care to successful and sustainable life choices. She also enjoys spending time with her siblings, parents and being a big sister.
